Australian shipbuilder Incat says the State Government won’t need the 3-6 month timeframe allocated to investigate whether it’s possible to build the new Spirit of Tasmania vessels in Australia.

Incat Founder and Chair Robert Clifford says his company would be able to build 90% of the new ferries with local products at their shipyard in Tasmania’s south.

Listen as Robert joins Aaron Stevens to discuss the possibility of Incat working with the Government to build the ships, clarifying concerns surrounding catamarans and the use of aluminium instead of steel.
